2-Step Equations, With Fractions - Set 1

Explanation: Each problem in this problem set looks like 2/5 * x + 3 = 9 or 2 + 7/8 * x = 44 or 5/6 * x - 3 = 52.  The first step is to 'undo' the addition or subtraction and the second step is to solve the fraction portion of the equation.  

Examples:

Solve 2/5 * x + 3 = 9      2/5 * x + 3 - 3 = 9 - 3 which becomes 2/5 * x = 6 which becomes (2/5) * (5/2) * x = 6 * (5/2) which becomes x = 30/2 which becomes x = 15.  

Solve 5/6 * x - 3 = 52     5/6 * x - 3 + 3 = 52 + 3 becomes 5/6 * x = 55 which becomes (5/6) * (6/5) * x = 55 * (6/5) which becomes x = 330/5 which becomes x = 66.   

Solve 3/20 * x + 4 = 7    3/20 * x + 4 - 4 = 7 - 4 becomes 3/20 * x = 3 which becomes (20/3) * (3/20) * x = 3 * (20/3) which becomes x = 60/3 which becomes x = 20.
