Change From a $1 Bill - Set 1

Explanation: A practical skill to learn is to know how to calculate the change from a $1 bill when you make a small purchase.  You may simply subtract the amount of your purchase from 100 cents or you can use the 'count up' method.

Examples:

Purchase: 35 cents     'Count up' to the next multiple of 10 which is 40 (5 cents) and then 'count up' from 40 to 100 (60 cents).  Your change will be 5 + 60 or 65 cents.  Easy!

Purchase: 70 cents     'Count up' from 70 to 100 (30 cents).  Your change will be 30 cents.  Easy!

Directions: Strive to easily determine the change from a $1 bill and then strive to increase your speed.  Good luck and enjoy the challenge!
